REAR HOUSING SUPPORT - ALLISON TRANSMISSION | 2001-2007
Duramax Transmission Rear Housing Support
The transmission housing on 2001-early 2007 Duramax trucks are prone to cracking in the event of excessive driveline vibration. Duramax driveline vibration is commonly caused by a failing u-joint or an improperly balanced driveshaft. This housing is very heavy and is only supported by being bolts to the back of the transmission. This Merchant Auto Transmission Rear Housing Support helps to strengthen this area and prevent cracking on the transmission housing.
This Allison transmission housing support is made from ⅞” .120” wall thickness DOM mild steel tubing and 3/16” plate steel. It is finished in a bright orange finish to add a great look to your truck. The plate also features our iconic MA logo to show off your favorite diesel performance parts provider. This combo makes for a solid support that will aid in supporting trucks used in off-road and harsh conditions. This easy-to-install brace can help save hundreds if not thousands of dollars in damage by preventing the housing from cracking. This brace installs with basic hand tools and your factory bolts.
To give your truck even better performance, we suggest installing our Merchant Automotive High Performance Motor Mounts and Polyurethane Transmission mount.
